EQUINE BREEDING CENTRE AND VETERINARY SERVICES AUSTRALIAN STUDENTS

Students On Practical Class Lesson

We are a 100% Equine Only Veterinary Service

Equivet (Australia) P/L accepts Veterinary Students from the University of Queensland on a regular basis. As part of the continued programme offered by the University, we are happy to assist where possible and offer our facility for student training.

Conditions of Application

All students should approach Equivet (Australia) P/L for work experience through the University.

As part of the University programme an insurance scheme is provided to you as part of your placement. We can accept a maximum of two students at any one time and extend our availability year round to Australian Students.

Equivet (Australia) P/L prioritises the placement of Australian Students at all times.

If you choose to conduct further work experience, not required for your degree, you will be expected to sign a disclaimer for Equivet (Australia) P/L and provide documentary evidence of private insurance cover for your work placement.

Students outside of Queensland who wish to participate in Work Experience must provide documentary evidence of enrolment in a Veterinary Science degree and must follow the same guidelines toward personal insurance.

Students from Queensland are expected to make private accommodation and transport arrangements while on placement with Equivet (Australia) P/L , however if difficult circumstances occurred, students could refer to the guidelines listed for international students.

The Veterinarians and Staff at Equivet (Australia) P/L are professional and easy to get along with. You will find that if you are willing to participate in tasks and express a keen desire to improve your knowledge of Veterinary Science, you will have a wonderful learning opportunity.

Our Veterinarians are patient and willing to teach students both theoretical and technical aspects of Veterinary Science. You will be expected to work long hours and in often very hot conditions so come prepared! Breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner will often be 'on the run' so you will need to be a person with good stamina and energy to keep up with them!
